The good that happened in Rainbow Seniors ROC in 2026 happened because you showed up!
You cooked, or you drove, or you set up chairs, or you sat with someone who came alone. You wrote a card to a person you never met. You sent a check. You said “yes” when asked to help, sometimes before you were asked.
Your work built a great year:
We received a $40,000 general operating grant from the Greater Rochester Health Foundation - our largest ever. Funders give money to organizations that show an engaged, active community. You are the evidence.
Over 2000 people, families and friends, happily gathered for the ROC Pride Picnic in Genesee Valley Park, hosted once again by Rainbow Seniors ROC.
About 70 people came to our annual seniors’ picnic at Seneca Park; food catered by an anonymous donor and served by new young volunteers.
A full monthly calendar stretched to include more lunches, yoga, health-based cooking demos, cards, books, breakfast and dinner clubs, happy hours, outings, special events and holiday parties.
The first “paid staff” Program Director in our history was hired, to supervise the Center and all its workings, programming, volunteers and interns. That person, of course, is me…
